What counts as a source

Rules on early distributions come from the Internal Revenue Code as the IRS explains it: its table of exceptions, Publications 575 and 590-B, Notice 2022-6 on substantially equal periodic payments and the monthly revenue rulings of applicable federal rates. Tax brackets and limits come from Rev. Proc. 2025-32 and Notice 2025-67; health coverage figures from HealthCare.gov and Rev. Procs. 2025-25 and 2026-26; state rules from each state's revenue department. Blogs, forums and brokers' articles are read to know what people ask, never as a source of a number.

How a figure reaches a page

No amount is typed into the text. The parameter file holds each rule with its source and the date it was read; the calculators and the pages read that file. The examples in the IRS SEPP FAQ, the bracket edges of Rev. Proc. 2025-32 and the applicable percentages of the premium tax credit are automated tests: if a parameter is mistyped, the site does not build.

Assumptions are labeled

Returns, inflation and withdrawal rates are not rules: they are assumptions you set, shown as such next to every result. We do not publish market forecasts.

Independence

Radif Partners receives nothing from brokers, fund companies, advisers, insurers or plan providers and links to none of them. There is no advertising today; if some is added it will be labeled, limited to three places a page, and never come from a firm selling retirement accounts or advice.

Review and corrections

The site is reviewed at least every 12 months, and when the IRS publishes the next year's brackets and limits (October and November), each month when a new AFR revenue ruling appears, and when HealthCare.gov opens enrollment. A reported error is checked against the source and, once fixed, moves the date shown on the page. Write through the contact page; the calculations are explained on the method page.

Results are estimates from the 2026 federal rules and the assumptions you type (returns, spending, state rate). This is not financial advice, nor tax or investment advice for your own case; a plan administrator or tax professional can confirm your own case. We receive nothing from any broker, plan or adviser.
